Rainforest telecom was born from a collaboration between Jeffus & Williams Co. a Juneau based telecommunications firm and Coeur Alaska a mining company with plans to reopen the historic Kensington mine located 45 miles north of Juneau Alaska.  Coeur Alaska had a need for telephone and internet service along with a high speed data network between their Juneau headquarters and the mining camp at Kensington.  Jeffus & Williams was interested in providing reliable business telecommunications services to Juneau and the surrounding communities.  This partnership gave both parties what they needed to grow their businesses.  It is also an excellent example of what can be accomplished when companies work together to overcome technical challenges.
